Upcycling materials to create a unique wall art collection

I crafted this captivating art collection, drawing inspiration from a vibrant blend of Dominican, Italian, Japanese, and NYC culture. Each piece reflects the rich collection of experiences and influences that have shaped me, resulting in a breathtaking display of creativity and diversity.

From the bold and vibrant colors evoking the energy of the Dominican Republic to the blend of traditional and modern touches reminiscent of Italy, this collection seamlessly weaves together cultural nuances from around the world. The modern essence of Tokyo Japan, while the captivating energy of New York City pulsates throughout the entire collection. As you explore this remarkable collection, prepare to embark on a sensory journey that celebrates the harmonious convergence of cultures and the power of artistic expression.

Tokyo Night Life

To reflect the modern Japan all Anime fans like me have grown up enjoying. The colors I chose for this collection were vibrant, complementing the natural wood, as well as the black and white touches. I used an old wooden dipping bowl and bamboo sticks previously used for planters, fluorescent acrylic colors to complement the sushi takeout container, disposable chopsticks, and the picture frames for Yayoi Kusama art pieces.

This sushi takeout container and disposable chopsticks were painted with fluorescent colors to complement the bamboo sticks, and the picture frames for Yayoi Kusama art pieces. Being our home’s favorite takeout, one of those disposable containers had to make it to this eclectic wall art collection displayed in our livingroom for the family to see.

Cassette tapes with vibrant and eye-catching pop colors not only serve as a stylish accessory, but also bring a nostalgic and retro vibe to this setting. The striking hues of these cassettes effortlessly blend with the collection, making them an ideal choice to make a statement.

Ratan Baskets and wooden bowl threaded with colors complementing the diversed art collection. Old salad bowl painted and threaded in the same colors.

The vibrant colors cashed beautifuly with the natural pieces, helping connect the traditional and the modern aspects of the collection, creating the overall breathtaking eclectic look that helps circulate energy, joy and love, while reminding us the multicultural and subcultural aspects that identify and unnite our home.
