About Me
Strategic Communications & Document Usability Specialist. Lead writer of The PTW Pulse newsletter, spearheading the PTW degree’s visual rebranding. A blogger and podcaster passionate about creating impactful engagement by forging meaningful connections between messages and audiences. Interested in overseeing comprehensive communications frameworks and channels.
With a strong incline towards editorial, marketing, or public relations, my goal is to contribute to developing and maintaining a company's internal communication frameworks or external channels.
I design, write, review, and edit digital content and documents based on client interviews, research, and creative briefs. My main focus is finding the most effective approach for the target audience and creating brands aligned with core values, mission, vision, and market position. This method has increased engagement, improved clarity, and positive client feedback.
My educational plan is to graduate from New York City College of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Professional and Technical Writing, a Psychology concentration, and a Hispanic Studies minor. I have gained my specialized certifications in corporate communications, strategic communications in technical organizations, and management of Fashion and Luxury Companies.
I designed Yokālloy to create a profound connection with many companies and clients along my academic, professional, and philanthropic journey. This has allowed me to participate in their educational and professional tipping points, expand my networking pool, and enhance my skills. I am fulfilling my passion and goal to be an influential asset personally and publicly by using my creative, analytical thinking, visual, written, and verbal communication skills to find the disconnect or connect between the message and the receiver.
Leadership Role
In the fall of 2023, I began my exploration of the Student Life and development realm to find the right club for me. I needed to find a club suited to fulfill my academic needs. Therefore, I began creating a club for the Professional and Technical Writing Department. I collaborated with a group of seniors and their instructor, Professor Shauna Chung, who formulated a tailored curriculum to create the City Tech Professional and Technical Writing PTW Club. On December 19, 2023, we established the existence of the PTW Club, as well as my designation as the president and one of the founding members of the PTW Club. In the Fall 2024 semester, the Student Life and Development Center and the Student Government Association officially registered and advised us.
The PTW Club fosters academic, social, and professional growth for students interested and invested in professional and technical writing. By nurturing a welcoming and engaged community, the club upholds a high standard of professionalism through communication excellence at City Tech and beyond.
Philanthropy
Since January 2023, I have volunteered at the Saturday Resource Center for Children of Promise CPNYC. This non-profit organization helps children struggling emotionally, socially, academically, and economically due to the incarceration of one or both parents. This non-profit organization has built a unique circulatory system by linking professionals, family members of the children, mentors, and volunteers hand in hand to provide the most effective support they need to succeed. I was honored to meet these exceptional scholars full of hope and energy. They reflect the organization’s hard work and efforts to fulfill its mission.
